Assemblyman Bill Brough Honors South Coast Conservatory as Assembly District 73 Small Business of the Year

San Juan Capistrano – Assembly Member William P. Brough (R-Dana Point) is proud to name the South Coast Conservatory as the 2020 Small Business of the Year for the 73rd Assembly District.

With studios in both Laguna Niguel and San Clemente, South Coast Conservatory’s mission is to drive youth to success with important life skills and confidence by providing education, scholarships and performance opportunities. South Coast Conservatory is working on bringing the benefits of dance and the performing arts to places and people who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity. South Coast Conservatory is also giving those with special needs a place of belonging and skills for rehabilitation, promoting an active lifestyle, and developing healthy bodies with healthy minds to combat depression, inactivity, and social issues.

For the past 25 years, they have been shaping lives in our community and will continue to be advocates of dance - believing in its lifelong benefits. Owner/Director for 17 years, Jena Minnick has over 25 years of teaching/choreography experience and was named winning Woman Business Owner by OC Business Journal.

South Coast Conservatory offers professional dance instruction to students ages 3-adult, from beginning to professional level. Their facility has 2 locations, 12 dance studios, 1 Pilates room, 2 retail stores, 42 highly qualified faculty members, 4 annual productions, a nationally ranked competitive program, a ballet company, a modern company, a hip hop company, commercial emerging artists company, and master classes with guest teachers from around the world earning it the title of "Best Dance School in Laguna Niguel" for the past 12 years.

The Dance Discovery Foundation was founded by South Coast Conservatory 10 years ago and has raised more than $600,000 with the purpose and commitment to serve our community by increasing opportunities to participate and enjoy dance and the performing arts. Dance Discovery Foundation host an annual Dance-a-Thon fundraiser called “Kids Helping Kids Through Dance” which benefits Dancers Against Cancer, CHOC, the OC GRIP Dance Project, Rising Stars Special Needs Program, Project Lunch Break & the Keep ARTS Alive Program.

Assemblyman William P.
